Jura Wine Masterclass and Dinner*14 August 2021

AGNES RESTAURANT - SOLD OUT

The Jura wine region is unknown territory to many wine lovers, but for those in the know, it has achieved almost cultlike status. These complex, compelling and elusive wines have recently taken the world by storm. With its native grape varieties and unique vinification techniques, it is sure to deliver excitement to the palate.

Wedged between Burgundy in the West and The Swiss Alps to the East, it is the smallest wine region in France, yet produces some of the most iconic wines in the world.

Come learn about the region and its interesting history, its people and the stories behind the stories, while tasting the varied and idiosyncratic wine styles. From the deliciously delicate Crémant du Jura, the fragrant whites from Savagnin and Chardonnay, to the captivating mutant grape Melon le Queue Rouge. We’ll further explore two of the rarest of French wines – Vin Jaune and Vin de Paille. These speciality wines from the Jura deliver complex flavours that will most certainly dazzle all your senses. We’ll conclude with another little gem – a liqueur from the region called Marc du Jura (which I prefer to serve with a cube of ice and a slice of lime!)

The world’s newfound love affair with the Jura shows no signs of abating, which has sent prices soaring and made availability increasingly challenging. But I can assure you, every sip is worthwhile.

Due to the scarcity of the wines, I will only be able to present this tasting once. To avoid disappointment, book early.
